THE WORK · FORM · CRAFT · MEANING

This Jingdezhen porcelain Buddhist triad is a contemporary handmade sculpture featuring three standing figures on layered lotus pedestals. Iron-red robes, turquoise-green glaze, famille-rose accents and gilt details bring color and quiet presence to the composition.

Form and Handwork

Made in sections, the figures and lotus bases are shaped and assembled by hand before glazing, gilding and repeated kiln firing. The upright forms, flowing robes and layered petals require careful sculpting and finishing. Fine details include the dark spiral hair, red accents, gilded surfaces and a small white urna mark between the brows.

Lotus Pedestal and Buddhist Symbolism

The lotus pedestal is a traditional Buddhist symbol of purity and transcendence. The red robes suggest auspiciousness, while gilded details lend the figures a dignified finish. The grouping is designed for a Buddhist altar, meditation room or quiet interior, where the sculpture’s balanced colors and calm forms can be appreciated.

A Contemporary Jingdezhen Porcelain Sculpture

Each figure is hand-sculpted, assembled, decorated and fired in Jingdezhen. The piece is a contemporary ceramic Buddhist statue inspired by traditional forms; the Yongzheng reign mark is an imitative design mark and does not indicate an antique date or official imperial-kiln provenance. The figures are presented as one sculpture, not as a set for separate sale. Please enquire about availability, shipping and any selected figure variations.
